Clos de l'Obac or Costers de Siurana in Priorat

The winery Costers de Siurana (or Clos de l’Obac as is it also called, was founded in the end of the 1970'ies, and the first wine that was released to the market was the 1989 wine (inlcuded in the list of one of the 100 best wines in the world by Slow Food). The winery is an example of the integration to the soils of Priorat for centuries. The Pastrana & Jarque family, owners of the property, have showed the potential of the area elaborating excellent wines of great complexity like Clos de l'Obac, Dolç de l'Obac, Miserere and Kyrie.

The Wines

Clos de l’Obac

Coupage of five grape varieties: Garnatxa, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot and Cariñena of more than 50 years of age. A strong and well structured wine. The aroma is complex and has notes of creamy, toasted oak. .

• Miserere

  Grapes from more than 40 yaers old Garnacha (garnaxa/grenache), Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Cariñena and Merlot vines are used for this wine.
• Miserere 2006 Tinto Crianza. 92 Parker points. 94 points in the Peñín Guide.

• Dolç de l’Obac

• A sweet wine elaborated with mature grapes.

• Kyrie

  The wine is a white wine that ages during 6 months in French oak barrels
  Kyrie 2007 (white wine aged in oak barrels). 92 Parker Points. 94 points in the Peñín Guide. Average price: 30 Euros.
